Y'know, I still recommend this place to friends, friends of friends, and so forth, so much to learn.

Yeah dude, my dad is thinking of trying to relearn the guitar (I don't think he's really played since I was born) so I pointed him this way. It's still the site I come to to find anything I'm looking for, at least guitar-related anyway.

This site is friendlier and more helpful than the UG forum, and yet less intimidating than the HC forum (where everyone has 10 custom guitars, 2 tube full stacks, and a slew of boutique pedals). I just wish we could let all the old members know that the site's back up and running. Most of the top-posting members haven't been active for over a year now.

Once exams are over, I can maybe see if there's any way to get in touch with any of the old guard, but even if they're not going to come back, there's nothing wrong with a new guard coming in to take their place.

Yeah IMO this has the best community available. On other sites I can't make a post without getting a barrage of "What kind of guitar do you have!?" then they all sneer when I tell them... And "you should buy a better guitar/amp/pedal" is usually the only advice they're willing to give. Too many elitists out there...
